Our Map and Directory is
using the Google Map technology to display locations on a satellite map
of Tunisia. We ourselves add the content and design around it.
And
although we try to make everything easy-to-use and to understand,
sometimes, it just does not work out. If you experience any problems,
please check the questions and answers below, you will most probably
find the solution to your problem there. But if not, please drop us an
email about your technical problem and we will try to solve it.
Please
notify us also if something on our site is not working in the way you
expected it to work - nobody is perfect, but we do try to improve our
pages constantly to give you a good value and experience when you visit
our websites! :-)
(Map)
I don't see any map.
Google
Maps supports the following web browsers:
Microsoft
Internet Explorer: 6+, Firefox 2+, Safari 3.1+, Google Chrome, Opera 9+
If your
browser is supported, then you have most likely "Javascript" not
enabled (see below). If your browser is not supported, try to get a
hold on one of the above listed ones.
If you
are running the
"NoScript" Addon-On for Forefox, make sure that all server feeds on the
AllOfTunisia pages are enabled, namely the google server feeds.
(Map,
Directory) When I click on a link, nothing happens.
You need
Javascript enabled for the satellite map and the whole framework to
work. If you are using a "script blocker", just make sure that
Javascript is working for the domain "alloftunisia.com" and the Google
map servers, that is really all it needs.
(Map,
Directory) I have Javascript enabled, but nothing happens when I click
on a link.
If you
are using the Microsoft Internet Explorer, you have to disable the
"Popup Blocker", because links will open in a new window and this
browser thinks that it is a "PopUp". You really do not need any Popup
blocker for our pages, because there are no "popup advertisments" here
at all (we hate them as much as you do!). When you are using Firefox,
links will try to open in a new Tab instead, when your settings allow
it.
(Map)
It takes a long time until the map shows up.
There are
many reasons why it can take a while until the map shows up on your
screen. For example...
... you
are on a slow internet connection
Your
browser needs to pull various graphics from our and from the Google
server. The slower your connection is, the longer it will take.
...
something is wrong in the internet between where you are at and where
our server is at
Maybe a
line is broken or crowded somwhere between you and us. It is like when
you are driving a car - sometimes, the road that you take is simply
blocked because of an accident or traffic jam. You only can wait a bit
and try it again.
... you
are using Microsoft Internet Explorer: This browser is quite slow when
it comes to processing these kinds of graphics, It can take up to 2-3
times longer for a page update to show up as it takes with Chrome or
Opera, for example. Although we try to optimize the map display as much
as possible even for different browsers, there are technical basics
that we cannot control.
... your
computer is a slower model
The
browser needs to render the graphics of the page and to run various
calculations. Older computer models, or slower ones, will take longer
to do so than newer or faster models. Although, in the end, you will
see exactly the same and get the same information, it just takes a bit
more time to get there.
(Map)
When I drag or zoom the map, it reacts only very slow
The more
graphics are displayed on the map, the longer it will take for them to
update in your browser when you change the map view. There is really
nothing we can do about it. We try to find the right compromise between
speed and the amount of information that we want to display. If you are
using Microsoft Internet Explorer, a switch to Safari, Firefox, Chrome
or Opera can speed up things considerably, though.
(Map,
Directory) I would like to add new information to the pages
This is
nice of you! Please go to this page and follow the instructions to suggest a new entry!
(Map,
Directory) I would like to correct information
That is
nice as well! Please send us an email and tell us what error you have
found and which correction you suggest!
